Slingwell Play free

Privacy policy

The short version: the game runs on your device and keeps your progress there. There are no accounts and no ads. If you say yes, Google Analytics counts visits and gameplay events so we can see where players get stuck; if you say no, nothing is tracked. If you write to us or join the launch list, we keep your email only for that.

Last updated 14 October 2026. Applies to slingwell.space and the web game at slingwell.space/play.

Who we are

Slingwell is made by Badwi Finianos, an independent developer based in France, who is the data controller for this website and game. Contact: hello@slingwell.space.

What we collect, and why

DataWhyLegal basisKept for
Your email, if you join the launch listTo tell you when Slingwell launches on mobile, and occasional newsYour consentUntil you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it
Your email, topic and message, if you contact usTo answer youOur legitimate interest in replying to youUp to 2 years after the conversation ends
Usage statistics, only if you accept (pages visited, levels started and finished, launches, stars, approximate country, device and browser type, a random cookie ID)To understand how the game is played, which levels are too hard, and whether changes helpYour consentGoogle Analytics keeps event data for 14 months; the cookies expire after 13 months
Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested)To deliver the site and keep it secureLegitimate interest in running a secure websiteAs set by our host, typically a few weeks

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising cookies. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off in our Google Analytics account. Until you accept statistics cookies, the site and game make no requests to Google or any other third party.

Statistics cookies (Google Analytics)

On your first visit we ask whether you accept statistics cookies. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the game works exactly the same either way. If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets these cookies on slingwell.space:

CookiePurposeExpires
_gaA random ID that tells visits from the same browser apart, so we can count returning players13 months
_ga_<ID>Keeps track of the current session13 months

The game sends events such as "level started", "level finished" (with stars, launches and flight time), "hint used", "Daily Orbit finished" and "result shared". These never include your name, email or anything you type. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

Google Ireland Limited processes this data on our behalf; it may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Changing your mind: use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page, or "Statistics cookies" in the game's settings. Withdrawing consent stops tracking and deletes the cookies. We ask again after 13 months if you accepted, or after 6 months if you refused. Inside game portals that embed Slingwell, our analytics is switched off.

Your game progress stays on your device

Levels cleared, stars, medals, Daily Orbit results, settings and cosmetics are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are never sent to us. You can erase them at any time from the game's settings or by clearing your browser's site data for slingwell.space. The game also stores files in your browser cache so it works offline.

This local storage is strictly necessary to provide the game you asked for, so it does not need your consent. Your cookie choice itself is also stored there. The only cookies we set are the Google Analytics ones above, and only if you accept.

Services we rely on

  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited), only with your consent, as described above.
  • Netlify hosts the website and receives the contact and launch-list forms. It processes data on our behalf, including in the United States, under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Our email provider receives the messages you send to hello@slingwell.space.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, restrict it, or receive a copy. If you gave consent (the launch list), you can withdraw it at any time, for example with the unsubscribe link in any email. Write to hello@slingwell.space and we will answer within one month.

If you think we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or to the authority where you live.

Children

Slingwell is suitable for all ages. Without statistics cookies the game itself collects nothing. The launch list and contact form are meant for people aged 15 and over; younger players should ask a parent to write to us. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Mobile apps

The iOS and Android versions are not released yet. Before they are, we will update this policy to describe anything they handle differently.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, such as adding analytics or online features, we will say so on the site before it takes effect, and ask for consent again where needed.
